Bristol Palin's pregnancy brings to the forefront the class divide of abortion. Intuitively one understands that sex produces new people, though they start as babies. The middle class for a good many years aped a perception of the upper middle classes by producing children only at specified times and by specified and respectible partners. The norm was two and later the one perfect child world view. Today, going over the limit, made one a breeder.
With this sensibility in mind, the liberal media and Democrats saw a bombshell in Bristol Palin's pregnancy. They saw a bombshell exploding in the midst of those judgemental, gun toting, Bible thumping neandrathals. It it were a bombshell, it fizzled. The problem was that liberals missed the bumper sticker, hate the sin, love the sinner. Worse, they missed the idea of tough love, by reinstituting the shot gun wedding. I love it, young men will accept the challenge, if properly coerced by the community, and within a short period of time become wonderfully domesticated neandrathal husbands
