There's a bit of pity in the attractiveness of the Barack candidancy, that's what liberal white guilt is all about. He's had such a hard time of it, let's make him feel better by electing him. Yes, after all he was abandoned by a black dad (you know what they're like) raised by a white single mom, how sad. What do you give to the pitiful? Loose change but certainly not a vote for the highest office in the land.
There is virtue in overcoming hardship but Obama really didn't overcome anything out of the ordinary. With Michelle he'd be homeless, tell us about Barry. He's attended the best schools from Indonesia to Hawaii to Columbia to Harvard. Never mind the pity for a single and confused mother who dragged her children through a couple of unhappy relationships across the Pacific. Is overcoming bad parenting is the crucible by which we now gage leadership? So what we have is a young man who raised himself up by academic success, but then what. tell me what he's done. Good but unfinished story, we know very little that qualifies for Presidential experience. Lord help us to elected a man who hasn't the credentials to catch stray dogs, to be the President.
